Many well-known producers in the food and confectionery industry are committed to "sustainable production" with all associated processes, which ultimately also includes the environmentally friendly recycling of re-work. Instead of disposing of or destroying “good” products in the garbage or the biogas plant, an international confectionery group has acquired a “tailor-made” PACK-SAVER.
The requirements and tasks were discussed with the experts from Leu-Tronic on site at the customer's premises. Among other things, this included the partial integration of the PACK-SAVER into a previously existing, but unsatisfactory recycling system.
The amount of rework or scrap packs resulting from the packing by several flow-pack machines are collected and brought to the central recycling hall in special containers. Here is a hydraulic lift and tilt device for loading the individual packs into an elevator or for controlled transfer to the PACK-SAVER.
The scope of delivery from Leu-Tronic included the feed elevator with storage container as a buffer. The complete synchronization of the work processes is monitored by the ALLEN BRADLEY-ROCKWELL control (customer requirement) supplied by Leu-Tronic.
Another special feature is that an explosion-proof dust extraction was also supplied.
The separation of product and packaging material is carried out by the PACK-SAVER.
While the emptied film is collected in a large container via a conveyor belt, the unpacked product is transported to the granulating station installed on the 2nd floor via an existing transport system. With the system supplied, an output of approx. 200kg baked goods per hour is achieved. The entire system is monitored by just 1 operator.
In this way, the customer can return almost 100% of the rejects or rework to the new production cycle. The packaging material is recycled in accordance with regulations.
